Equine wellness consultations are designed to support horse owners in taking a thoughtful, big-picture look at their horse’s wellbeing. Rather than focusing on isolated issues or quick fixes, these consultations consider the many factors that influence how a horse feels and functions day to day, including management, routine, workload, environment, and recovery.

Many horse owners seek a consultation when something feels “off,” when progress has stalled, or when they are overwhelmed by conflicting advice and unsure which changes will truly benefit their horse. Others simply want reassurance that their current approach is aligned with good welfare and sound, evidence-based principles.

Fit to Compete consultations are grounded in science and centred on practicality. Recommendations are individualized, realistic, and respectful of each horse’s needs as well as the owner’s goals, resources, and constraints. The focus is not on trends, products, or one-size-fits-all solutions, but on helping owners make well-informed decisions that support comfort, wellbeing, and long-term soundness.

Clients can expect to leave with greater clarity, a clearer sense of priorities, and actionable next steps tailored to their horse. Consultations are intended to complement - not replace - veterinary care, training, or other professional services, and work best as part of a collaborative approach to equine care.
